What is a Skin Profile?

Knowing your skin profile means knowing what skincare YOUR skin needs.

Your skin is unique, not only is it different to everyone else’s but it changes all the time, responding to the environment, your stage of life and factors such as diet.

Knowing whether your skin is a little dry, a tad sensitive, or prone to pigmentation is crucial to selecting the best products to not only support your skin but enhance it.

Once your skin profile is set, our clever system will only ever show you products that are a match for your skin, so you can be secure in the knowledge that your skincare is right.

And remember updating your skin profile is always just one click away.

There are 3 ways you can set your skin profile and it can take as little as two minutes.

Who is behind Script?

Script was founded by internationally recognised and respected dermatologist, Professor Greg Goodman (AM). The Script skin profile concept was developed by him using decades of knowledge. In 2023 Professor Goodman partnered with DermCo, the largest dermatology group in Australia. Together, they are expanding the Script concept online and into as many dermatology clinics as possible, to ensure every patient can receive the best skincare advice and gain access to cosmeceutical products that work.

About Professor Greg Goodman

Professor Greg Goodman AM, MBBS, FACD, MD, GradDipClinEpi, has been a practicing dermatologist for more than 35 years. He is the principal dermatologist at The Dermatology Institute of Victoria, a large specialist skin clinic located in South Yarra, Melbourne, Australia, and which houses the original Script Skincare concept store. He is a clinical professor at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and professor at the University College of London in the UK. Professor Greg Goodman’s areas of specialty include skin cancers, Mohs micrographic surgery, lasers in dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, facial ageing and the treatment of acne and acne scarring. He is a contributing editor and associate editor for several medical journals and an advisor to many cosmetic and skincare companies. He has published extensively on acne, the use of skincare, botulinum toxin, fillers, and lasers. He is currently the most extensively published and cited dermatologist in the world on acne scarring. He was awarded an Order of Australia (AM) for services to research and skin cancer in January 2021.

Early in his career Greg developed an interest in skincare, understanding the therapeutic benefits well formulated products have on the skin. However, over the years he found, with increasing frustration, the very limited options for consumers to access unbiased and knowledgeable skincare advice. Every day he witnessed confusion in his patients about what they should be using on their skin. This is why he developed the Script skin profile – an independent, unbiased system that matches patients with the right skincare for them.
